Does Anyone Listen To Las Vegas Radio At Night?

Mar 9, 2021 4:58:52 PM / by Larry Julius

Each week, according to Nielsen, more than 1.5 million adult consumers tune-in to a Las Vegas radio station. This is significantly more than watch local TV or cable. More than stream video channels like Netflix or Hulu. More than read local newspapers. More than use Facebook or Instagram. More than listen to online audio services like Pandora and Spotify.

But almost everyone knows (including many who advertise on Las Vegas radio) that consumers only listen to local radio stations during the day. Right? Wrong!

According to Nielsen, 48% of local consumers listen to Las Vegas radio stations each week between 7:00pm and 12:00am. This is a larger audience than Pandora, Spotify, and Instagram combined reach during an entire week.

For Las Vegas small business owners, radio's immense nighttime audience offers a unique value proposition.

Best Way To Re-Introduce A Las Vegas Small Business To Consumers

Jun 5, 2020 5:07:40 PM / by Larry Julius

Las Vegas small business owners are learning that 're-opening' may not be an appropriate word for the challenges they face as the Coronavirus crisis winds down.  A better term might be 're-introducing'.

Since the Governor of Nevada shuttered the state on April 1, to slow the spread of COVID-19, Clark County consumers have discovered new ways to buy the goods and services they need.  It's now the burden of local business owners to lure these customers back. The first step is re-introduction.

On November 1, 1940, KENO signed-on as the first radio station in Las Vegas. Since then, local business owners have used radio advertising to introduce themselves successfully to new customers. Radio has also helped these businesses survive recessions, depressions, world wars, hurricanes, and blizzards. By any metric, advertising on local radio remains the most effective tactic a small business owner can use post-pandemic, as well.

Advertising On A Budget? Why Las Vegas Radio Makes Sense.

Nov 26, 2019 7:19:00 PM / by Larry Julius

Over the next 12 months, Clark County  consumers are expected to spend $39 billion at retail.  To capture a larger share of this cash,  local small business owners should consider advertising.

The US Small Business Administration recommends that every SWFL small business advertise consistently.  “Think you have a great product?” asks the SBA. “Unfortunately, no one’s going to know about it unless you advertise.”  The SBA goes on to say, “Advertising, if done correctly, can do wonders for your product sales, and you know what that means: more revenue and more success for your business."

Local business owners have depended on Las Vegas radio to market their goods and services since 1941.  That's when Laura Belle and her husband Maxwell Kelch put the first successful station, KENO, on the air.

Today, Las Vegas radio, by any key advertising metric, is still the best way for business owners to reach local consumers.

Advertising  On Las Vegas Radio At Night Proves To Be A Sound Decision

Oct 1, 2019 3:16:00 PM / by Larry Julius

Is advertising on the radio just a day job for Las Vegas small business owners?

Thousands of local companies depend on radio advertising to market their goods and services. But, many of these business owners choose to buy commercials only between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm.  Is this a good idea? Maybe not.  Here are the facts.

Last week, for instance, 1,502,898 adult consumers tuned-in to their favorite Las Vegas radio stations. This is significantly higher than the number that tuned-in to a local TV station, read a local newspaper, logged-on to social media sites like Facebook, or streamed audio from Pandora and Spotify.

Making A Budget Work Harder When Buying Advertising On Las Vegas Radio

Jul 8, 2019 6:14:00 PM / by Larry Julius

Las Vegas consumers are expected to buy $39 billion worth of local goods and services over the next 12 months. To claim the largest share of those dollars requires small business owners to advertise.

“Think you have a great product?” asks the Small Business Administration. “Unfortunately, no one’s going to know about it unless you advertise.”  The SBA goes on to say, “Advertising, if done correctly, can do wonders for your product sales, and you know what that means: more revenue and more success for your business."

According to the eBook Seven Steps for Success, "There are many ways for small business owners to advertise. Options include local newspapers, local magazines, local television, and online."

"But to achieve the “3-Rs” of advertising success, Reach, Recall, and Return, no other medium delivers results as effectively and efficiently as advertising on Las Vegas radio."

For budget-conscious small business owners, there are three tactics that can be employed to make sure every advertising dollar spent on Las Vegas radio stations works as hard as possible.
